According to the feedback from many participants I’m under the impression that the Congress with its Postgraduate Course and Festive Evening in the Munich Residenz went down well with the audience. And that makes me happy together with Fiona Lewis, our secretary, and Anja Frank, my local secretary. It was our goal to organise a framework for a meeting which would be professionally sound and serious but on the other hand socially cheerful and funny. The success came because you, the participants and speakers, filled this framework with life. Thus, it’s my turn to thank all the speakers for their commitment, all the participants for the lively discussion and for the good temper during the festive evening.

After the meeting is before the meeting and in this sense we look forward together with our new President Marc van Beurden for the next meeting in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I hope many of the non-member participants will join the ECSVD (go to the online application form) and will come to the next ECSVD meeting in 2012.
